HARRODS DIAMOND JUBILEE CROWNS Crown Jewels

HARRODS is celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee by displaying a selection of ballgowns and crowns created especially for the event by the likes of Mulberry, Lanvin and Tiffany & Co. Based upon the St. Edward's coronation crown, each crown reflects the designer or brand's personal style, whilst celebrating all things British. "We wanted to furnish our crown with a more contemporary feel and add a bit of fun to the occasion," said Theo Fennell of his design. "We have used our signature pink and black and the bee motif which we felt was ideal to symbolise the Queen Bee. We hope it has a sense of jolly timelessness." One stand-out design comes from De Beers, whose spectacular crown features 974 diamonds, including an impressive 73-carat diamond at the top. The crowns go on display today at Harrods, until June 15.
