Paris Fashion Week: Day One

Updated Wednesday September 26, 10.26am: Two bastions of French fashion - Karl Lagerfeld and Alber Elbaz - have shown their enthusiasm for this season's Paris Fashion Week, and it's all thanks to Raf Simons and Hedi Slimane - who will make their womenswear ready-to-wear debuts for Dior and Saint Laurent Paris respectively. "I think it will be an exciting season in Paris. It is needed!" Lagerfeld told WWD. "It's stimulating and both [Simons and Slimane] are people I like a lot with a lot of talent." "I think it's going to be a fashion moment in Paris," agreed Alber Elbaz. "I think it's something that a lot of people are feeling and thinking about, and I love competition because it moves me forward. You know, I'm not a jealous person. I'm only jealous of people who can eat and don't gain weight. It motivates all of us to work harder and find solutions." Updated Wednesday September 26, 8.32am: Our appetites may have been whetted by Cedric Charlier and Anthony Vaccarello yesterday, but Paris Fashion Week gets in full swing today. While Guy Laroche, Alexis Mabille and Nicolas Andreas Taralis start the proceedings, Dries Van Noten is the first big name to take centre stage - with a show scheduled for 3pm. We'll hopefully be treated to more luxe daywear at Rochas this afternoon, before the dark subversive creations of Gareth Pugh at 6pm. The London-based designer - who started showing in Paris in 2008 - is sure to see front row support from his long-term friend and fan, Daphne Guinness - the perfect muse for his armour-like work. Martine Sitbon is expected to deliver more of her carefree feminine elegance at the Rue du Mail show this evening, as Nicola Formichetti gets set to unveil his next collection for Mugler later on - where he'll debut his first handbag line for the label. The French designer has fast become known for his attention-grabbing and impactful work, even casting Lady Gaga in his autumn/winter 2011-12 show. It'll no doubt give the fashion crowd a suitably bold way to round off day one of the Paris schedule.

Milan Fashion Week: Day Six

Updated Monday September 24, 8.31am: Cara Delevingne opened DSquared2's show this morning - "a celebration of the super girls, super sexy", as the designers behind the label, Dean and Dan Caten, told us backstage. The surprise special guests? The Jedward twins, naturally. Updated Monday September 24, 8.31am: The final day of Milan Fashion Week is here, but not before the DSquared2 designers - twin brothers Dan and Dean Caten - prepare to put on what is always a wildly imaginative show. Last season, the pair recreated a fake prom setting (starring Lindsey Wixson as prom queen, naturally); spring/summer 2012 was a catwalk version of Glastonbury (complete with a stage, muddy boots and a camper van); and autumn/winter 2011-12 was an homage to the Wild West. This season can only be bigger and more inventive. Roberto Cavalli follows next on the schedule. Hopefully, he'll have mellowed since his recent tirade against the "Little King Armani", as he referred to his fellow designer as. Cavalli became concerned after Armani moved his show slot from the same as his (Monday) to the day before, provoking fears that the fashion press might skip his catwalk offering to travel to Paris instead. Gianfranco Ferré will round up the proceedings, as designers Stefan Citron and Federico Piaggi prepare to showcase their third offering for the Italian label. Tomorrow, the fashion carousel moves to Paris for the final set of shows.

Milan Fashion Week: Day Three

Updated Friday September 21, 12.54am: The Just Cavalli girl took a grown-up turn this morning, with a fresher cleaner outlook that we've seen in previous seasons. Moschino played host to of this season's key trends - monochrome and stripes. Cara Delevingne - unarguably one of this season's most in-demand models - stepped out in a white daisy-covered white shift dress that we can't wait to invest in next summer. Updated Friday September 21, 8.13am: It's a big day for Donatella Versace as she prepares to show her next offering from Versace, as well as the new collection from sister label Versus - designed by London man-of-the-moment Christopher Kane. Both shows are bound to pack a sartorial punch both in terms of clothes and their respective front rows. In fact, Versus has already announced one star appearance - from the one and only Beth Ditto, who will offer guests an exclusive catwalk performance. But, it's Moschino who will start the day off with its early 9.30am slot. With its upbeat and feminine aesthetic, it's a label that's well-equipped to get the fashion crowd ready to face another day of shows. Just Cavalli is next up, followed by the opening of its latest Milan store that night - featuring a gig from Azealia Banks, who's fast becoming something of a fashion week regular. She previously performed at Karl Lagerfeld's private party during Couture Fashion Week in July and at another soirée for Chanel. The afternoon will see Etro, Iceberg and Blumarine take to the stage, before Sportmax whets our appetites for the Versace-Versus finale.

Milan Fashion Week: Day Two

Updated Thursday September 20, 1.02pm: MaxMara eschewed the vibrant colours that we saw in London (John Rocha, Erdem, Osman and Burberry to name but a few), opting instead for a safari-inspired collection that came in soft khaki hues (pictured left). Emporio Armani adopted the same mushroom hues later this morning, adding a feminine polished twist. Updated Thursday September 20, 8.25am: Today's most coveted ticket is Prada - one of the season's biggest shows. No one sets a trend or a mood quite like Ms Prada and the fashion pack will be on tenterhooks to see what she has in store next. Starting the day off, however, is MaxMara - a label that always manages to attract a front row star or two. Previous guests have included Katie Holmes, Zoe Saldana and Chloe Moretz. Emporio Armani is next up on the agenda, followed by Ermanno Scervino - whose show will star Brit girl-of-the-moment Cara Delevingne.

London Fashion Week: Day One

Updated Friday September 14, 1.03pm: Antoni & Alison got the London shows off to a roaring start this morning, by sending a brass band down the catwalk. The label's latest offering comprised a colourful collection, full of pretty silk dresses. Fyodor Golan focused on occasionwear later on, with blue the colour of choice. There is still plenty to look forward to this afternoon - we've just heard that Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn are set to hit the catwalk for Sass & Bide. Updated Friday September 14, 8.28am: London Fashion Week starts today. Antoni & Alison will kick-start the schedule at 10am, followed by former Fashion Fringe star Fyodor Golan and BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund nominee Zoё Jordan. Last season, Jordan recruited BFC young ambassador Poppy Delevingne to star in her show - we wonder what she has planned today. This afternoon, we'll see new offerings from Corrie Nielsen, Willow, Sass & Bide and Duchess of Cambridge favourite Emilia Wickstead. LFW name-to-know Eudon Choi will give the front rowers plenty to talk about as he showcases his latest collection at 3.30pm. Markus Lupfer will hopefully deliver more of his playful tongue-in-cheek creations tonight, followed by Felder Felder and PPQ - that will take the celebrations late into the evening with its hipster-packed after-party, a soirée that has become a staple on the LFW circuit.

Crew, who will surely provide us with pieces we want to keep in our wardrobes forever; followed by Victoria Beckham, who will showcase the latest collection under her contemporary line - Victoria, Victoria Beckham. Rounding off the day's schedule are Narciso Rodriguez, who recently made fashion headlines when he was hired to revamp Banana Republic, and Betsey Johnson - whose lively end-of-show bows (last season she did the splits), never fail to disappoint.

Kristen Stewart’s Vogue Cover

KRISTEN STEWART has landed her first ever British Vogue cover, gracing the front of the new October issue - out on Friday September 7 and nationwide on Monday September 10. In it, she talks to Christa d'Souza about her relationship, fame and her public image. "I know that if you haven't thought about how you want to present a very packaged idea of yourself then it can seem like you lack ambition. But, dude, honestly? I can't," said Stewart. "People expect it to be easy because there you are, out there, doing the thing that you want and making lots of money out of it. But, you know, I'm not that smooth. I can get clumsy around certain people. Like if I were to sit down and think, 'OK, I'm really famous, how am I going to conduct myself in public? I wouldn't know who that person would be! It would be a lot easier if I could, but I can't." Although Stewart's private life has fallen prey to a media storm over the past month, her career is increasingly on the rise. She currently stars in the film version of Jack Kerouac's iconic novel, On The Road, in which she plays 16-year-old MaryLou - a character based on the young wife of Neal Cassady. The non-conformist liberal nature of the Beat Generation is something the 22-year-old actress relates to. "There is always going to be that seam of people who want things differently to the standardised version," she said. "It's not necessarily a rebellious thing, it's just who they are. That world back then, it just seems freer to me than anything I could ever touch and I'm fully nostalgic for it, even though I wasn't even alive then. It's the loyalty aspect of it all. I love being on the periphery with a group of people who have the same values that I do. People who don't get off on fame, who just like the process of making movies and thrive." ]
