Footwear Fanatic

FORGET her own medal win, Rebecca Adlington seemed more impressed by the Duchess of Cambridge's shoes when the royals paid a surprise visit to the Olympic Village yesterday. The Team GB swimmer was busy admiring Catherine's blue wedges as the Duchess, Prince William and Prince Harry stopped by to congratulate the team on their success so far. "I just love her shoes. They're much nicer than the sports gear we're wearing this week," Adlington told The Daily Telegraph. "It's amazing that the royals are here today. They were so, so lovely." The Duchess was wearing a pair of £245 navy blue cork wedges by Stuart Weitzman for Russell and Bromley, which she teamed with slim-fit jeans, a nautical striped top and Smythe blazer. Catherine, accompanied by Princes William and Harry, had been out supporting cousin Zara Phillips earlier during the day - who helped Team GB take home a silver medal in the eventing team jumping final. Adlington has also added to the total medal count, winning the bronze in the 400-metre swimming freestyle. A keen follower of fashion, the 23-year-old was spotted showing off her patriotic nails as she accepted her prize.
