L'Oréal's New Girl

SHE has appeared in catwalk shows from Louis Vuitton to Chanel, but now 18-year-old Barbara Palvin has been named an ambassador for L'Oréal Paris.

The Hungarian model - who first hit the fashion scene when she walked in Prada's autumn/winter 2010-11 show - will be the face of L'Oréal Paris' new sheer lipstick, Rouge Caresse.

WHO LIKENED PALVIN TO NATALIA VODIANOVA?

"I'm very excited about the prospect of joining the L'Oréal Paris family alongside huge, iconic celebrities such as Gwen Stefani and Claudia Schiffer," Palvin said. "I have a very personal vision of beauty, which is very closely aligned with [L'Oréal Paris'] modern approach."

And L'Oréal Paris is equally pleased with the appointment.

"[Palvin] is a very promising supermodel with a fascinating personality, [a] fresh and elegant beauty with a great sense of humour and astonishing maturity," Cyril Chapuy, global brand president of L'Oréal Paris, told WWD. "I think she has this incredible potential to become a household name."
