A fashion revolution?

Don't let the title of today's story fool you, devoted WWW followers. We will not spend this Accessory Report discussing the latest on Conor Oberst's band-though it's certainly tempting-but rather, the fact that vibrant eyewear is a key accessory this season! From fluorescent pink (Alexa Chung) to tangerine (Jessica Biel) to luscious red (Jessica Alba), bright frames are all the rage right now-and understandably so! Whether they're cheering up your winter wardrobe or adding quirky flair to a fancy day look, bold shades offer an easy way to make your wardrobe a little more on-trend. And with so many colors and styles to choose from, you'll surely find a pair that not only flatters your face, but suits your personality too!

When it comes to this season's best accessories, Bottega Veneta S/S 12 definitely has our vote. Earlier this month, we gushed about designer Tomas Maier's futuristic geometric earrings, and now we're head over heels for his brilliant take on bright sunnies. The fashion house's Red Brown BV Eyewear ($495, 212.371.5511), shown above, are an artful blend of retro glam and modern sophistication. The glossy, orangey-red rims put a new spin on the iconic, '60s-inspired Clubmaster style, giving the sunglasses a truly cool and luxe look.

Of course, the shades at Bottega Veneta aren't the only fabulous bright sunglasses out there! In fact, we've spotted some pretty fantastic shades on your favorite tastemakers, including Alexa Chung and Gwen Stefani. Chung, snapped here at the Valentino S/S 12 show, selected Cutler and Gross for Cacharel's enviable sunglasses, which we're sad to report are currently sold out. We must applaud Chung on her eyewear pick, as the contemporary feel of the fluorescent pink color and rounded shape suit her sensibilities perfectly. A few months later in Los Angeles, Stefani also opted for rounded frames, albeit with a more cat-eye shape and sky blue hue. The singer/designer stepped out wearing Stella McCartney's Round Frame Sunglasses ($225), a lovely choice that added a subtle pop of color to her neutral outfit.

If you had a more classic shape in mind, surely Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, and Gwyneth Paltrow's bright choices will inspire you. Biel went for a statement-making finish in Los Angeles earlier this month with the help of The Row's Burnt Orange Sunglasses with Leather Wrapped Temples ($442), while a day earlier, Alba complemented the hue of her cozy knit scarf with Thierry Lasry's red Obsessy Sunglasses ($375). Additionally, we're also quite fond of the Ray-Ban Cats 5000 Sunglasses ($135) Gwyneth Paltrow wore while running errands in New York a few weeks ago. Contrasted with the rough-and-tumble vibe of her MiH distressed leather jacket, the pink aviators inject an element of cool femininity into her off-duty look.

Fortunately, the bright eyewear options don't stop there! After a little online browsing of our own, we found shades every bit as stylish as the aforementioned styles. Over at American Apparel, the Jody Sunglasses ($35) come in a striking electric blue color, which would look awesome worn with an equally vibrant dress come spring! Love a cat-eye shape? We do too, which is why we simply can't resist Urban Outfitters' Extreme Cat Eye Sunglasses ($16) in the sprightly candy-apple red hue-the price is right too! Not surprisingly, we're also crazy for Karen Walker's quirky Soul Club Sunglasses ($220) in Yellow. These original shades have fashion-forward girl written all over them. And last, but certainly not least, we'd like to direct you to Matthew Williamson's splurge-worthy Curved-Square Sunglasses ($369). Sure, they're a bit of an investment, but they're so cool you'll never want to take them off. High-fashion sunglasses with some charisma? Now that's a bright idea!-Jessica Baker
